COLLECTION GUIDE
A great guide to easily choose what suits you!
Wedding stationery can be a lot to take in—there’s a wide range of terminology and printing options to sort through. But don’t worry! I’ve put together this guide to make everything simple and clear. By the end, you’ll be all set to create the perfect invitation suite for your special day!
I. PRINTING METHODS

1. LETTERPRESS PRINTING
– deepening the design into paper using a die, under the action of a press. Printing is done with TYPOGRAPHIC INK.

-deepening the design of a metal die into paper and applying mettalic foil under the action of a heatpress.

– is done using a letterpress plate without ink, leaving an inkless, or blind, impression on the paper.

– is the most common and economical type of print. The ink is placed on the surface of the paper and then dried.
II. PAPER TYPES

1. HANDMADE PAPER
Handmade paper is a type of paper made manually, sheet by sheet. The process involves several meticulous steps that require time and attention: preparing the paper pulp, pouring it into special molds, pressing, and drying. The result is worth all this effort, as handmade paper has a distinctive, fine, and soft texture that captivates you from the first touch.

Card stock is a thick, durable paper often used for projects that require strength and structure. It’s heavier than standard printer paper, between 135 – 350 gsm. The weight and type of card stock depend on the project’s needs. For instance, an invitation may use thicker, textured card stock, while thinner stock might be used for envelopes to avoid unsightly creases.

Vellum is a smooth, translucent paper valued for its sophisticated appearance. Historically, vellum referred to high-quality parchment used for important manuscripts and documents. Vellum is made from paper that mimics the look and feel of this traditional material. Its translucent quality creates a layered effect, making it a popular choice for luxury stationery.

V. RIBBONS
Choose to personalize your stationery set with threads, cords (gold or silver) or with the finest quality ribbons that highlight the beauty of the stationery. Here are a few ribbon options:

VI. ENVELOPES FLAPS
I enjoy decorating the flaps of envelopes with wreaths or letterpress monograms, with metallic foil or without it, by blind debossing (the design is pressed into the paper without foil or color). These inscriptions are made by applying specially crafted metal dies to a thermal press that deeply imprints the design into the paper. The visual and tactile effect is delightful. You can choose from one of the wreaths in our collection, or we can use a unique die customized with your initials (made by order), as seen in the images attached.

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
TIMING
Mail invitations at least 3 months before your wedding day, and order invitations at LEAST 6 months before your wedding day.
If you want something special for your event day, it’s best to let me know a few months in advance so I can reserve a spot in our production calendar. This way, we’ll have everything ready on time and all the materials needed for the stationery. For example, keep in mind the longer production time for handmade paper and press molds. Later, by the Monday of the event week, I’m expecting you to send me by email: the texts for menus, panels, and guest lists.
QUANTITY
Only one invitation per household is needed! Typically, you’ll order for 60-75% of your guest count. Add an extra 15% for keepsakes and last-minute additions.
WORDING
Make your invites reflect you and your style —whether that’s elegant & formal, fun, or anything in between.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Choosing wedding invitations doesn’t need to be stressful! With a bit of understanding about printing options, deadlines, and terms, you’ll feel confident as you go through the process. Whether you love the classic feel of letterpress, the sparkle of foil, or the nostalgic touch of vintage stamps, your invites should be a true reflection of your style and set the right vibe for your big day.
